We were lucky to reserve Yasushi, who took us on an adventurous and fun full-day walking tour around Tokyo on our first full day in Japan. The orientation he provided us with to the metro system gave us confidence to use the subway and regional trains during the rest of our visit, and overall, he was a pleasure to be with. I had the pleasure to spend a couple of days together with Yasushi. Yasushi´s knowledge about Tokyo, but indeed also his knowledge about Japan and the Japanese culture, is really good. We went to the well-known spots -always with many interesting informations from Yasushi´s side. On top he´s a friendly and open-minded person. Don´t miss out on Yasushi as your tour guide

We were very very happy with our tour to Mt. Fuji with Yoko, Yasushi's wife. She was very friendly, bubbly, and accommodating. We learned a lot about Mt. Fuji and she even introduced us the proper Omairi, which was our favorite part of the tour. She was very knowledgable about Japan's history even if the questions were not related to our trip. We enjoyed her company and thought she was an exquisite tour guide. I would get Yoko again when we tour Japan!

Yasushi was fantastic. His command of English is excellent. We suggested some sites we would like to see and Yasushi came up with an itinerary for the day that worked well, plus he made sensible changes. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the sites we saw plus the reasoning behind the various religious rituals we witnessed and participated in. He chose a great but reasonable lunch spot too. A really interesting day - well worth it.

Our family (parents & 12 and 15 y/o sons) hired Yasushi as our guide on our first full day in Tokyo. He was easy to correspond with, strong English skills, very nice and polite. Yasushi was very helpful in showing us how to navigate the train system in Tokyo. He showed us how to obtain a pass, add currency, and figure out which types of lines traveled to each destination. We toured the largest Pokemon Center in Tokyo, Akihabara (specific gaming shops), and the fish market. Highly recommend!

Yasushi was terrific. We were visiting Tokyo from the U.S. with three of our grown children. He made the trip interesting for all. We spent two days and had a wonderful time. A nice guy in addition to being a great guide. Highly recommended.

Yasushi was booked so we booked with Yoko and had a marvelous time. Traveling by subway, we first attended the annual New Year’s Greeting from the Emperor of Japan (along with 20,000 avid Japanese). We then attended the Lion Dance at the Kiyosumi Japanese Garden and the Fukagawa Fudo Temple where wishes are presented to the deity through chanting sutras, banging durms and burning fire. We were so glad to have the chance to see this. Yoko was very helpful and informative. Highly recommend her.

Thank you very much Mr Yasushi for an excellent day in Tokyo. It was a real pleasure to be guided by you.

Mr. Yasushi is really accommodating and he reached at time. He would always do more than what we expected. Could arrange for us in the event of emergency and at the last day, he gave us a small present. That is so sweet of him. I would engage him again in the near future. He is a true professional guide.

We are a family of 4 (two boys 14 &17) and Yoko gave us a fantastic guided tour for our first full day in Tokyo - the perfect start to our trip. Boys loved Tsukiji fish market and cherry blossoms at the Imperial Palace. Cat Cafe was fun & a little weird! Also visited Akihabara. Yoko gave us lots of suggestions for the rest of our stay in Japan - very useful. She could answer all our questions. The Sushi restaurant in Tsukiji you brought us to was my highlight! Thank you Yoko for everything!!!

We booked Yasushi at first because he offered a Manga workshop for our daughter with a published artist. We were very satisfied with our tour set up for what we wanted to see for our first day in Tokyo.

I use the tours to learn how to get around using the suica cards for the subways. After sightseeing, shopping, and lunch, we met his wife Yoko who helped with the Manga workshop. This was a highlight in the trip for her. Well worth the $$.

Thanks for showing us your Tokyo!

Competent, friendly guide for a perfect individual tour, always according to our wishes.

Would always chose Yasushi again.

Yasushi and Yoko planned a great all-day itinerary based on our interests, and Yoko was a terrific guide! Along with major sights, she took us to a small gallery we would NEVER have found where we bought a painting, and we had fantastic ramen at a place we would NEVER have tried. She was tireless, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. We also took the anime workshop, where we were able to try background painting, and there was a nice surprise at the end. We would definitely hire them again!

It was very easy booking with Yasushi! It was hassle free and he accommodated my requests for the anime manga workshops for my kids who are fans of anime! My family had a great time with Yoko, his wife. She was amazing, my kids absolutely love her! Her English is impeccable. I would definitely recommend the both of them to my friends! The walking tours we booked were so much fun and informative because of them!

I spent two days in Tokyo; the first with Yoko and the second with Yasushi. They were both wonderful! Yasushi was very patient and helpful when we were planning the itinerary over email. Both Yoko and Yasushi were delights and I had so much fun walking around Tokyo with them! I also appreciated their knowledge and cultural guidance while we were together. Highly recommend the Watanabe's; if you're looking for a guide in Tokyo, use them!

Yasushi picked us up at our hotel, catered the tour to our interests, and took us places we could never have found on our own. In addition, he was extremely helpful in planning all our days in Tokyo, not just the days spent with him. He goes above and beyond - we highly recommend him!

We spent 2 days in Tokyo with Yasushi as our guide. It was the best travel experience we have had [and we do a lot of traveling!]. He is very knowledgeable about all the sights we went to. And he introduced us to several restaurants that we really enjoyed. He was fun to be with and tailored the sightseeing to our needs [my husband is physically limited and travels with an electric scooter]. Yasushi was great in helping us get around! We will book with him again! Highly recommend him!

Yasushi and Yoko, his wife, were both friendly and efficient by providing to my daughter and me, a manga wokshop with a manga author.

I would recommend us to any of my friends who would go to Tokyo.

Yasushi is a very experienced and efficient guide. His english is excellent and his knowledge of the city is awesome. We had a wonderful time in Tokyo and we managed to know it well, thanks to Yasushi. He helped us with many aspects tourists usually have difficulties abroad, like reservations, tickets, tranportation, mobile SIM card, special requests: name it, he will help you the best way he can.

Yasushi was unavailable, however we were very fortunate to use the services of his wife Yoko.

Yoko was a delight and catered perfectly to our needs. Would highly recommend her for any requirements in Tokyo

Yasushi was a wonderful tour guide for my father and I around the Tokyo area. He spoke Ensligh very well, knew the subway system backwards and forwards, and customized our day around the sites we wanted to see the most. We were able to squeeze in all of the top sights of Tokyo into one day because of Yasushi!

5 stars Victor F. 07 Jan 2014

Excellent experience. Yasushi spoke perfect English. We only had a short time in Tokyo and Yasushi created and very individualized tour from me and my family (6 total) using the little time we had very efficiently.

I had a long layover in Tokyo after traveling to China for my grad program. I always wanted to visit Tokyo but was worried about navigating the city by myself in a very limited amount of time. I contacted Yoko and Yasushi and I'm so glad I did! They gave me detailed directions explaining what to do once I landed. Yoko gave me an unforgettable customized tour of Tokyo. We visited the sights that she recommended based on my preferences. I had an amazing time and can't wait to go back to Japan!

5 stars Jenny D. 04 Jul 2013

Yasushi organised a session with a mangaka - a Japanese cartoonist. We spent a few very happy hours practicing various manga techniques. Who would have thought drawing straight lines could be so difficult - and also so powerful! Yasushi was very professional from start to finish, as was his wife Yoko, another registered guide. They ensured we had a fabulous time and a very unique experience in Tokyo. I strongly recommend both of them!

5 stars Dyke S. 01 Jul 2013

Yasushi was an excellent guide around Tokyo. We had two kids (15/9) with us and he created an agenda that appealed both to them and to us. We saw some fascinating locations, enjoyed unique experiences, ate great food and enjoyed our time with Yasushi. Thanks Yasushi! The Shipps

Yasushi is very professional in his job and he speaks perfect English also learning Portuguese too, soon will be able to host Portuguese guests. He prepared our plan when we booked him and shred with us and fine tuned according to our requests, during our visits he provided explanations about the history as well as demography of Japan. Thanks to him we had a very nice traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Yasushi is very prompt in email response which is great and this helps very much in the pre-trip planning. He is also super patient and very helpful in offering suggestions.

During the tour, he can be on the quiet side but after getting to know each other a little, conversation flows.

He is a seasoned tour guide and this shines through in the short time I had him as a guide. Kudos and thanks much!

we were disappointed in our day with Yasushi. he was on his phone quite a bit and seem distracted. the itinerary wasn't anything we couldn't have done on our own and his input was minimal. at lunch, we visited a festival with outdoor vendors. we repeatedly asked for assistance in ordering and explanations for what was offered, but again, we felt his input was minimal and he made no effort to help us. i would not recommend yasushi.
