Robin Dempsey Private tour guide in Edinburgh - United Kingdom

Robin Dempsey

Guide profile:

Let me ensure you take away happy memories of your visit to Edinburgh, the amazing capital city of Scotland!

I’m a native Scot who has lived and worked in the city for over 40 years, am a professionally qualified Blue Badge guide and a member of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.

Whether you have just a couple of hours, or a couple of days, I can make your time in Edinburgh special.

I could show you round the many world-famous ‘must see’ sights in Edinburgh, such as the iconic castle perched high on its rock, or the Queen’s official residence in Scotland - the Palace of Holyroodhouse, or the Royal Mile which is the heart of the city’s medieval Old Town, part of the Edinburgh World Heritage Site. Or there’s the remarkable New Town, a unique expanse of 18th century town planning.

But I can also take you off the beaten track, to the places that the locals know best, such as the delightful little river that flows through a gorge a short walk from the city centre, or to one of the villages that Edinburgh has swallowed up as it grew. Or perhaps to one of the wonderful unspoilt Victorian pubs that you may never come across.

There is so much to see – tell me your interests, and I’ll take you on a tour that shows you the best of what Edinburgh has to offer.

Should your travels take you beyond Edinburgh, I can accompany you, or simply advise you on the best places to visit.

He attended us very well and we got very interested in the actuality of Edinburgh. Two of us have been living there 40 years ago actually and as we told him the fact beforehand and he explained the changes in these 40 years. It was fan for us. Thank you very much, Robin! I hope to see you soon.
