Monika Sharma Agra ( city of Taj Mahal)

Guide profile:

Hello travelers....!

Namaste.....

It is my privilege to share with you what I've come to love and respect for over 5 years.

In my guiding career, I have permission to work as a tour guide/interpreter with foreign guests in India, from the Ministry of Tourism & culture, Govt. of India. I have had the pleasure to guide groups to all attractive parts and destinations whole country showing our way of life and culture and let them get involve with them by themselves.

I have the qualifications to make you love Agra as it is meant to be experienced. Daughter of a Sanskrit teacher, my blood runs thick with history, culture and tradition.

Experience the beauty and the wonders of world the Taj Mahal with me! :)

I love to guide combining a mixture of entertainment, making history come alive, interesting facts about the present society, fun anecdotes about everyday life and love of my home city! to me, it is very important that my guests have a great time and at the same time get to learn about India and the Indian life style.

I believe that you will enjoy the traveling with me and also you will get the great value in your lifetime when you are here in India even if for a while.

I prefer to prepare individual itinerary for my guests instead of package tours, some times guests ask for packages too. I usually ask people about their interests, ideas and even dreams. So share your questions, ideas, concerns etc with me and I'll try to make your trip amazing and memorable!

Families and seniors are welcome to be my guests.

Here are the more details about me,

I was born and brought up in Agra and completed my Masters in Medieval History of Indian from Agra University. My interests are reading books, exploring new places, meeting new people and photography.

I have consistently given services to the various renowned travel companies and as a freelancer to the guests as a tour guide/interpreter. I have also traveled to other parts of India including North India: Amarnath cave in Kashmir; Jhansi, Varanasi, Lucknow, Allahabad and Mathura; East India, Jaganathpuri in Odisha, Kamakhya temple in Assam; South India: Kerala, kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu; West India: Jaipur, Udaipur. Besides, I have also experience of Kumbh fair, which is the biggest congregation of the Sadhus (Hindu Saints) and occurs after every 12 years.

My tourist and I, visit the city of love or any places like a friend or a family member. Agra city--An abode of historical monuments, temples, churches and gurudwaras. Agra is very ancient city it is mentioned in Hindu`s epic Mahabharat where it is named as Agraban, is situated on the right bank of river Yamuna, which is also known as Jamuna.

Agra was first conquered by the Muslim ruler Mahmood Ghaznavi. He invaded, plundered and devastated this city. Later in 1505 AD, Sikandar Lodi declared Agra city as his capital. After the lapse of some years, again the city flourished under the reign of --5th Mughal emperor Shah Jehan. He succeeded throne in 1628 AD and Agra became the centre of attraction in trade and business.

Meeting place of saints, sages and scholars from all Asia was very common that time. It became the load-star for artistic workmanship, literary talent and spiritual worth.

Agra was developed as a riverfront garden city during his time period and in 1556, it was declared as the capital of Mughal empire for hundreds of years. We can have a look at the remains of that periods, which are testimony to the grand historical background of history.

Agra is the only city in India, which homes world heritage sites; Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.

I prefer to work in the city of love--Agra. Which is the home to the one of the seven wonders of the world--Taj Mahal. Besides, the city homes Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Itmad-ud-daulah, Akbar's Tomb and many more lesser known monuments.

Hotel booking and transportation is also available at competitive price. Tours such as : Golden Triangle. which comprises three cities of North India-- Delhi, Agra, Jaipur-- can be tailored as per your requirement.

I am looking forward to show you around my country....!

Thanks!!!!!

Monika was extremely professional and always on time for pick ups and drop offs. Her driver was very attentive and ensured that we felt comfortable amid the chaos on the Streets of Delhi, Jaipur Agra and many lesser known towns. Monikas background of history helped bring back to life many of the places that we visited.

She always seemed to know the best places to take photographs and was very generous with her time, taking pictures of us and showing us new ways to use our Ipad.

Recently, I had the pleasure of participating in one of Monika's tour of Agra, including the Red Fort and, of course, the Taj, besides a few other sights. I can only recommend her. She's super knowledgeable, seemingly knowing the answers to all of our questions (and also speaks English very well) and gets stuff done. On the day we visited, the Taj was closed in the morning (VIP visit), and even though we arrived late for the opening, she manged somehow to get us in early! And she is supernice.
