Hi, I'm Ikumi, it means "smell good" :)
I'm from Kobe and live in Tokyo now.
After I graduated high school in Japan, went to an Uni in Hawaii and Ohio (go buck eyes!) majoring anthropology. My thesis was "Why Hello Kitty became big boom in the world." How the world has accepted Japanese pop culture.
Spent time as a writer in NY and volunteer to revitalize a small village in Thailand for a month.
I came back to Japan and worked as an editor and marketing for 10 years. Then, I just switched my job simply because I love to travel. Love to meet new people, share different culture and history, and taste different foods. That's my favorite part!
My career as a guide is almost for 4 years. Not only I run the tour for visitors in Japan, but also take Japanese groups to overseas such as Europe, Africa, and Asia. Enjoying both!
Recent reviews of this tour guide:
Ikumi was fantastic! From my first email inquiry with details of our trip to giving us tons of information we would have never known, she was awesome. Excellent communicator all around and my kids enjoyed her as well. Very professional yet oersonable... and again, would have no hesitations recommending her to anyone wanting to see as much sights in a limited time in Tokyo. Thanks Ikumi!
