The ultimate goal of travelling is to enjoy ourselves. When we travel we look forward to seeing new places and people, and discover different ways of living and understanding life. We long to be marvelled and to capture all that the world offers. This possibility awakens not only our innate instinct for knowing but also feelings and emotions within us that often remain dormant in our day-to-day lives.
Gregorio Arribas, a private tour guide in Barcelona and Catalonia region, a connoisseur and admirer of his city, wants that all mentioned above become a reality for everybody that visits this part of the globe, and sees his mission as helping people realise the full potential of their travelling experience
Gregorio is a professional and passionate tour guide, living in Barcelona for more than 40 years who can show you the city AND the people with all the interconnections between them, or any aspect that you may be interested in: highlights, arquitecture, urbanism, parks, art, musseums, history, sports, gastronomy, social way of living, customs, traditions, festivities, etc.

We (two US couples) LOVED our time with Gregorio. We couldn't recommend him more highly. When he met us at our hotel, he cleverly guided us through the old section of Barcelona before introducing us to Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and Gaudi houses. He set the atmosphere of wonder and delight and then captivated us with information, historical and current. We could easily have spent another 4 hours together.Gregorio was our introduction to a 10 day biking tour of Spain but he remains the highlight.

BARCELONA HIGHLIGHTS TOUR
1.The church of Sagrada Familia (designed by Gaudi 1852-1926)
2. The historic Gothic Quarter
3. The Maritime Façade
4. Montjuic, the hill that overlooks the city with most of the Oympic facilities.
We begin the tour looking at the outside of the Sagrada Familia. Construction that began in 1882 and still continues today. On the tour you will discover why it was built and the chronology of its construction including details of what has already been built and what has yet to be completed.
We leave the Sagrada Familia and cross the ‘extension’ of the city, designed in a grid, and go towards the historical centre where the Romans first settled 2000 years ago. We stroll along the narrow labyrinth of streets taking in the gothic style of the cathedral and other beautiful religious and civil buildings. A few minutes from the Gothic Quarter we come to the most famous street in Barcelona, Las Ramblas, with its Opera House and walk down to the Christopher Columbus monument and the old port that was radically transformed by the 1992 Olympic Games.
We finish the tour at Montjuic mountain. Home to most of the facilities for the 1992 Olympics, together with builidings and atractions from an International Exhibition held in 1929. Montjuic also provides us with amazing panoramic views over the whole of the city.

Toured la Sagrada Familia with 13 family members, kind of like herding cats, but Gregorio was wonderful in dealing with us! He is a real wealth of knowledge, and kept up a nice pace, answering all of our questions with lots of enthusiasm. Most respectful, courteous person that we've met so far!
Tour Guide Comment:
Hi Emily and family,
Well, with so many young people I really expected the tour to be as you say, but I was happily surprised that they really pay attention, I think this was more because they really are well educated than for my capacity to atract their attention. Anyways the tour was very reconforting for me,
Thank you very much!
