EJ Jang Private tour guide in Seoul - Korea (South)

EJ Jang

Guide profile:

Hi, my name is EJ.

I don't think of myself as a tour guide, but rather a cultural ambassador of Korea. I love talking about all things Korean: the culture, history, overall society...you name it. One of my areas of expertise is in Korean traditional architecture. Every time I walk you through the palaces or folk village, I get into details about the science, art and functionality of the structures, contrasting them with modern architecture.

I have been living in Seoul all of my life and know every detail about it. I'll talk about it's past, it's present. And we will even talk about what the future holds. We'll talk about how people live, from the birth to the death and then even talk about the afterlife in Korea. You can book a tour with me during the day or I can show you the night life of Seoul as well. I can arrange all your travel needs and design the tour you want.

I myself love to travel and have been to more than 20 countries and counting. I understand what it means to be a traveler and know what people expect when they come here (or for any country for that matter). I won't give you a tour package where they lump in things you don't want. Book with me and you will travel the way you want. You'll eat whatever you want and you'll see what you want. Send me an email about what you want to do and I'll make it happen for you.

EJ is an excellent tour guide. His English is excellent. Me and my son really enjoyed our walking tour with EJ. His knowledge of all the sites was great. He was patient with me. I'd fall a little behind at times. We booked EJ for our entire trip. Plus he took us to great places to eat also. I would highly recommend EJ. Next time we're back in Seoul. I'll be booking EJ again.

Tour guide services/sample itinerary:

We are going to talk about Korean traditional architecture as we walk through some of the great palaces of Korea. After the palace tour, I will take you to either Bukchon Hanok Village to see a traditional village or Insadong, the antique alleyway that once served as the king's guild. With Insadong, I can also show you Jogyesa Temple. I'll not just take you around but also explain the details and stories about the palace and Korea that will make your trip more fun and meaningful.

EJ was an excellent guide! Our customized tour was both entertaining and educational. EJ speaks English WELL and this alone allowed us to get more from our experience - we asked many questions, so the ability to communicate effectively was key. And he's fun! I would highly recommend EJ to anyone visiting Seoul.

I love visiting Korea and EJ has helped make this visit a memorable one. He knows all the good eats and hot spots in the city that I wouldn't have been able to find otherwise. Would definitely consider booking another tour!!

I was surprised with how much I could "tour" in just a couple hours. As a Seoul native, EJ knows the city like the back of his hand. It is clear that he studied architecture because his insights were ones you won't get from studying a travel guide or wikipedia page. I would recommend that you take this tour early on in their visit to Korea as it will serve as a good backdrop for the rest of your stay. It's not just about buildings & history, it's like a crash course on culture & transportation.
