Born in Brabant (Burgund), you could say that his passion for wine started at birth. As a young boy he made his very first encounters with some of the finest wines. However, it is not only wine that has captured his fascination, but also champagne.
Returning to his home country, the Netherlands, after long stays abroad, or preparing for celebrations at home, he has often been heard to stay, "Put the champagne on ice!"
His parents regularly hosted wine-tasting events. And so he learnt the secrets of the profession at a very early age. "Since my parents started their wine merchant business I have been able to broaden my knowledge diligently and I consider the vintners in Burgund as my teachers and mentors. It is not only the wine in itself that is important to me but the combination of wine and the culinary art of dining."
Since 1991 Sandor Cheizoo has been working in tourism. He has travelled Europe to its entirety as bus chauffeur and courier. From Scandinavia to Austria, from Rome to Paris, from the Baltic states to Russia. Over the years his regular winter visits to Salzburg, Austria have meant that his love for the country and this city has steadily grown. It is from here that he now organises his wine and culture tours, city breaks as well as wine and champagne tasting excursions.
