Guide profile:
Egyptology is not just about history, it is the stories of the people behind each building and relief. It has its influences in our lives nowdays and helps us to understand the culture, traditions and beliefs of Egyptian people today. And that is exactly what I wish you to experience while being in tour with me!
I was born and grew up in the Karnak, a village located behind the Karnak Temple in Luxor. I spent all my childhood playing in the ruins of the Temple. As a teenager I worked with archaeological expeditions in my village looking for artefacts. Some years later I obtained my degree of Egyptology and Restoration and worked with the French Expedition inside the Karnak Temple.
I still live in Karnak, I hold a degree in Egyptology from the University of South Valley and degree in Guiding from Cairo University and I am a member of the Egyptian General Tourist Guides Syndicate.
I have extensive experience guiding tourists all over Egypt during the last ten years, and I know that what makes a trip unforgettable is the way i'm able to share parfumes, traditions, real life, music and history of my own country.
So welcome to Egypt, an amazing country!
More than the pyramids and the temples, and as amazing as these sites are, Egypt is not just an arid desert land, there is something for everyone here, from a relaxing felucca ride along the Nile River, to meditating in the Temple of the Oracle at Siwa, or bathing in Cleopatra’s pool, riding a camel, or riding rowing boat to watch the birds in the Nile Marshland in Luxor, or experiencing the bustle of the Khan El Khalili markets and concerts in old Cairo.
Whether it is snorkelling in the beautiful Red Sea waters, to exploring the ancient grandeur of the Pyramids in Cairo, eating seafood on the sparkling Mediterranean at Alexandria, seeing the rich colours of the temples at Abydos and Dendara, and exploring the amazing maze of tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, or finding where the famous Rosetta stone was taken from the town of Rasheed in the Delta, every guest wants something different. I can show you a part of Egypt you never imagined you would find .
My passion is helping guests to explore the more remote and less accessible areas of Egypt, including the Oases at Bahariya, Siwa, Kahrga, Dahkla and Farafra, and the rugged mountains of Mount Sinai. I love the desert and oases, and have guided overnight camping and luxury accommodated hotel experiences in the white desert, crystal mountain, and the black desert. Most of all I enjoy giving my guests the opportunity to meet and talk with local people in the villages, from the Nubian Village at Aswan to the rural village on Banana Island in Luxor, I will help you to engage with Egyptian people from all walks of life.
Guiding is more than telling you what I know, it is also Listening to what you want to know and helping you to find the answers, learning to read a few hieroglyphs, learning about how the Ancient Egyptian culture and beliefs were integrated into both Christian and Islamic faiths, and finding out the more recent social and political history.
Many of my guests tell me that the highlight of their tour was the interactions, the chance to exchange ideas and experiences.

Possibly one of the best holiday choices I've made!
Mohamed was an ideal choice for us. He's smart, kind and patient.
As we went from place to place he helped us understand the ancient Egyptian culture and taught us about the Gods and Pharaohs and how/why the ancient sites were made and laid to ruin. Stuff you can't learn in a group!
He also showed us modern day Egypt including trips to local eateries (ask him to take you to the Shawarma shops!).
Highly recommended! Thanks again Mohammed
