Guide profile:
Ciao!!
My name is Marisa, I'm an archaeologist and qualified tourist guide in Rome. I was born in Rome and I love my city.
I've studied Classical Archaeology at University of Rome and I've dug for a long period as a archaeologist in mythical roman places such as The Roman Forum or The Palatine Hill.
I'm an open-minded, smiling and friendly girl, I love to talk with my clients, discovering their story and their culture. I love private tours because I consider my clients as travellers, not as a number in the big crowd of tourists.
I'll adapt my style to my clients, so we can use a private driver and choose only exclusive restaurant (if you want a VIP treatment) or we can use the subway, and enjoy a quick ice-cream (I can be very informal).
I dream for my city a different kind of tourism, a Sustainable Tourism, with more attention to the local impact and economy and more respect for Rome.
With me as your private tourist guide, you'll have a local at your disposal, discovering the History but even local traditions, culture and food.
---> IMPORTANT! Write me before a tour. I always reply to messages, even when I'm abroad. So If you dont' receive a response contact Viator or send me another message! It could be a techinical issue. Thanks :)

After reviewing various websites, we thought Dr. Marisa Ficorella would make a good fit and we were right. Prior to arriving, Marisa, an archeologist and Roman historian without equal, provided us with information and answers to basic questions as we were first time travelers to Italy. Upon arrival, Marisa guided us through her town with deep knowledge in a proudly enthusiastic, yet patient and low keyed manner. As a pair of "mature travelers", we appreciated her flexibility in adjusting the itinerary when the weather changed or when stamina lessened. With the initial jet lag, we found that starting an hour later was more comfortable and Marisa was happily able to accommodate. Using her iPad, the was able to explain and describe much of what we were going to see in detail when the venue would make it difficult to hear or see detail.
At the beginning we proposed an outline of the attractions we wanted to visit and asked for a cost including time and admission fees, excluding tra

My second love is Photography.
In my free time I spend hours making photos with my Nikon and my two analogical old cameras. I’ve attended a photography school for two years, and still now I take part in photographical workshops.
One of my photos was even used as a cover for an American Besteller, the Priest Graveyard by Ted Dekker.
For this reason, I’ll be happy to wait for you (if you want to take some good photos).
If you are interested in photography, take a look to my gallery on Flickr.
