We spent two great days with Mario (Montevideo and Punta Del Este). More importantly, we learned a lot about the country and its history by open and friendly conversation between our stops. One of our unplanned highlights was visiting Los Yuyos, his favorite 105 year old grappa bar, and sampling flavored grappa at no cost to us. We now are exchanging pictures for flavored grappa receipes. I recommend Mario not only for the usual tourist sites but for a deeper understanding of his country.

We high appreciated his frendly approach, excellent knowledge about various aspects of his country ( we learned a lot during the trip) and last but not least his humor. As a former tourist guide many years ago (as a student) I was impressed by his professional skills and the day with Mario was one of our unforgertable days during our South Americva trip. I was completely satisfied with the service of Mario. So much so I invited Mario for lunch and to visit me in my home town, Chicago. I was very pleased with his knowledge about Montevideo's architecture and an out of the road visit to two of the most important art museums. Excellent choice!!

We spent a wonderful day with Mario in Montevideo. He was prompt, knowledgeable, charming, and congenial. His English was perfect.We saw the sights of the city as well as some places that we requested to see when we made the booking. I would highly recommend him to anyone planning to visit the area. Our only complaint was that the time was too short in his beautiful country.

Mario is a knowledgeable, soft spoken, gentleman. We were a group of 16 Canadians stopping in Montevideo one day and Punta del Este the next. He punctually met us each day and quietly toured us about. We saw the highlights of both places. The vehicle and driver were great too. You can't go wrong with Mario.

We liked Mario and Montevideo very much but had some concerns. It was very hot and Mario's car does not have air conditioning. At the end, Mario indiciated there were extra fees for his services, which was never disclosed upfront. We paid for a nice lunch for him and were planning a very nice tip, so i was surprised by his insistence that we owed more $. We had fun drinking Grappa and he is very nice. I wish he had air conditioning and didn't ask for more $ at the end. Otherwise it was great.

Tour Guide Comment: As agreed with Mr Austin in previous correspondence, price for his tour TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED was $ 230. That is exactly what he payed, less his previous 20% deposit for 4 hs of my time. He neither asked for A/c vehicle in his messages. . Wish he would go back to our correspondence to check everything.

Be cautious - the $ is what is most important to Mario not your satisfaction.

Tour Guide Comment: Mr. Wilson and his wife booked 2 tours Were a no-show at one of them and were very satisfied (hugs and kisses at the end) with the other one. $? Mr Wilson paid what he wanted to pay. Maybe he wanted a tour for free!!

Mario informed me that he nor the van driver were smokers. The van driver didn't smoke but Mario smoked at every stop we made. He even stopped the tour so he could complete a cigarette.

Our DEAL was for a PRIVATE tour and he invited 4 more people when 2 of our people didn't show up and charged me the full price and made extra money from the other 4 people. He got paid for 2 tours out of my one PRIVATE TOUR. Contact me for further details. I am very dissatisfied with his performance.
