I have worked as a tour guide for 5 years in Kyoto, and have a passion to introduce this beautiful and unique city and produce exiting tours!

There are many tours in Kyoto, but most of them, you just go to see famous sightseeing spots by bus or taxi, and hear some explanations from a guide. Don't you think it's a little boring?

As your private guide, I think it is very very important to listen from you first about plan and requests and then customize your original tour. I guide you by waling, cycling and even running!(if you wish)

Since I have a long experience as an English tour guide, I know Kyoto very well and have confidence in meeting a variety of requests.

In my tour, I would more like to take you to the places that travel guidebooks don't tell, such as stone-paved back streets, small temples of beautiful flowers, good restaurants that only locals know etc.

My guide policies are

　1, To help to find something interesting that people usually don't care or don't notice (even Kyoto locals!). For example small stone objects, a roof tile or window glass of Japanese house, an old woman walking in a Geisha town… Sometimes you will notice the nice food smell from a local market, subtle sound from Kimono craftsman's house, and refreshing wind of beautiful Kamo River.

　2, To tell the story and the spirits of Japan. The story can be related to Japan's history, culture or Kyoto people's spirits but it is NOT going to be boring! My tour is not a history class. Guiding talks must be very fun, exciting and full of humor and joke.

3, To support you for getting a better grasp or changing your image about Kyoto and Japan. Kyoto isn't just the old city of temples but it is the place where we can find the core of Japan.

home cooking lesson in a traditional old house,

exploring local towns which have many hidden attractions!
