“We had an absolutely FANTASTIC journey with your staff through the Andes! Hernan was superfriendly + a great source of knowledge, with a very kind demeanor. The porters were just AMAZING! How they did what they do with a smile is beyond words! And your cook – Pabel – was a magician in the kitchen – the food and its variety was utterly delicious + put me to shame! We were supremely impressed + praise the team HIGHLY!!

APRIL

I could not agree more with ProfEmily. Traveling with Hernan on the Salkantay trail to Machu Picchu (four days) was a truly incredible experience. He worked around his schedule to make a private tour for my brother, a friend and I. I was not particularly excited about the experience before I left for the four day hike - I felt out of shape and expected it to just be four days of walking and staring at my brother's back while he leaped over mountains with ease. How wrong I was. While the trip was challenging, no doubt, I enjoyed every moment learning about the culture of Peru while walking across some of the most beautiful land I've ever seen. I am also very confident I could not have enjoyed the experience if it wasn't lead by the guide I now call my friend, Hernan.

One experience I remember particularly - it was the end of the second day, we were all exhausted, Hernan was trying to keep us motivated with jokes and stories about how various Peruvian flowers got their name (ask about the Dancing Ballerina's when you take the tour!), my brother picked up a rock and tried to knock one of the fresh (insanely delicious) grape fruits from a tree along our route. We saw the owners of the property approaching, and we thought we were in for it - we started apologizing profusely. But the man came up, and gave us ten passion fruits (all he could possibly hold in his hands). Knowing the kindness of the people you will meet along your way to Machu Picchu is as valuable as seeing the site itself. There is no one better, or kinder, to show you the way than Hernan of InkaPeruTerra.

The tents were clean, the food (cooked by a wonderful and amicable chef) was delicious. The four different climates you'll make your way through (or so it seems) makes the walk well worth a few blisters.

I could not reccommend Hernan more. Email me if you have any questions, or visit the site for yourself! They have incredible treks, tours and adventures all around Cusco and Peru Inkaperuterra.

A fabulous experience throughout the trek. We learned a lot about culture, the history, the geography, the flora / fauna and Peru generally. Hernan, Teo and the porter team were incredibly welcoming and made us feel special – like we were the only ones on the trail.”

Hernán is an OUTSTANDING guide. His leadership is specially good, he encouraged us all the way especially on the difficult parts. His knowledge of nature is at a very high standard. He is an entertaining companion and always helpful. Without his particular help we doubt if we would have been able to finish it.

His relations with the porters and the cook were excellent. He led them and motivated them and they provided us with excellent service. Look after them well, they deserve it.”

Great experience and will go back to the UK with high recommendations of the route, staff and company.

I think everybody did a fantastic job in providing us with a fantastic trip.

A special thanks to Hernan for being a great guide and also to the chefs and porters for such great food and service.

Machupicchu was just part of the this great experience and was soo much more rewarding to see after the trek!”

“The porters + chefs were very friendly and allowed us to take part in the cooking. This improved our experience and understanding of Peruvian people.

Our guide’s knowledge and language skills were far greater than expected; he was always helpful and supportive throughout the trek.

When eating, the porters + chefs could not do more to help and their service was excellent. The food exceeded our expectations and portions were more than enough.

I felt that everybody worked really well as a team and that the trek was more than just seeing Machupicchu, it was experiencing how Peruvian live, and their country. The timing into Machupicchu was fantastic, before the tourist masses arrived. The guide gave us a fantastic tour for 3 hours. Overall it was a wonderful experience, which we would highly recommend.”

Dear Hernan,

Thank you very much for this fantastic tour! I highly recommend Hernan as a tourguide. Besides his knowledge, he is very flexible and accomodating. I was travelling with 2 kids and we planned to see a lot in very short time. Hernan made it all work for us, and we even managed ziplining and Aguas Callientes in one day, along with Machu Picchu. My daughter had toothache and Hernan found a dentist in no time, so she was allright. Thanks again!
