My name is Freya Middleton. I am Australian & have been living in Italy for the past twelve years & work as a licensed tour guide of Florence. I went to Florence on a post graduate research scholarship after my degree in Art history & never left. I find Italy to be one of the most seductive countries in the world; it is attractive in so many ways & appeals to all the senses & the mind. I will bring Florence alive for you. You will be transported to the Golden Age when the city was the undisputed leader in wealth, splendour & power as exemplified by the art & the architecture of the great families & the republic that ruled the world & made man once more the centre of the universe. Modern Florentine life co-exists with the past & my aim is to expose you to both the romantic ideal & the raw Italian' bella vita' that draws us to Italy time & time again.

Freya was a wonderful tour guide for our large group covering a wide age range (teen through 84). She has so much knowledge to convey that it makes the art comes alive. And it makes the visit so much more worth it. Book Freya if you have the opportunity.

Freya took us on an AMAZING tour of Florence. In 3 hours she showed us the entire city, including some sites I'd never seen in my 2 past trips. Her passion for the art, history, and culture made her the perfect person to experience this spectacular city with. The tour included, artistic, historical, social, financial, religious, and even culinary exploration that I never could have imagined. I would recommend Freya to anyone who wants to fall in love in Florence. 5 thumbs up isn't nearly enough.

Freya was a fabulous guide. She took 4 of us on a basic tour of the city center. Her knowledge of Florentine history was broad and her "dish" on historical personalities brought that history to life. Her knowledge of Florentine art and architecture was deep, and her enthusiasm for it and all of Florence was infectious. And her recommendations for dining and shopping were spot on. I recommend her without reservation.
