Hi we give Ellen 5 stars in fact we give her 5 gold stars what a wonderful girl so thoughtful and reliable my husband is 87 years old yet she had the patience and kindness to realize a dream to visit the great wall never having been there . The time spent with Ellen was a time treasured memory and we are recommending her to all our friends who visit Beijing love you Ellen.

She is knowlegeable. She knows how to avoid large crowds when we went sightseeing as I had told her that we do not like large crowds. At my request, she was able to arrange for a Mercedes S class to take us around. As also requested by me, she took us to good restaurants with clen toilets. She was punctual and very obliging.

This is my first trip to China and Ellen provided a wonderful, no rush, friendly, informative, and fun filled atmosphere! With 3 days, she fit in Great Wall Mutianyu, Forbidden City, Lama Temple, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Summer Palace, Tianyi Market, Birds Nest, Water Cube, Temple of Heaven, Temple of Longevity (at Summer Palace), and Peking Duck! At no point in time did I feel rushed, everything felt genuine and she was really there to make me feel comfortable with the sights and sounds. A+++

Ellen earns another 5 star rating! We booked her for 3 days. She handled guiding my husband, myself, our two teenagers and my 81 year old mother with great energy, enthusiasm and patience. She knows the city and transportation extremely well. She even came back on her own for no fee to the city (an hour commute each way) on the day we left to make sure we got our transport to the airport that she arranged! Highly recommended.

My husband and our two boys 8 and 11 years, have just returned from 5 weeks travelling China and Europe. The highlight of our trip was our time in Beijing, this was all due to Ellen Lan. She was absolutely fantastic and took us to see all the wonderful sights Beijing had to offer and also showed us the real Beijing and its people. Ellen booked based on reviews. Any guide can do the expected. Ellen excels in going beyond the call of duty. Exceptional effort in retrieving a phone lost in a theatre - making calls and having to go back to the theatre to get the phone . Helping (suggesting a place and taking us there) when we went off the beaten track to make bespoke skirts. Detailed written down instructions as how to negotiate the West Beijing train station. She felt more like a friend than a guide. Highly recommended.

Ellen was a lovely, gentle, young lady who went out of her way to take us where we wanted to go with a minimum of fuss. We were travelling with my 79 year old mother who had recently had an accident which left her walking impaired. Ellen took frequent rest stops for her around the Forbidden City, Great Wall, Summer Palace etc. and her driver helped all of us in and out of the van at each stop. She went above and beyond what we expected and we can't recommend her more highly. Thank you Ellen!

Ellen was wonderful, she made our tour in Beijing one of the best!! She was went out of her way to do what ever we wanted and we felt so comfortable with her. She showed us the beauty of China but she was the Beauty of China. Ellen was very knowledgeable in all aspects of Beijing's history. She was prompt and very efficient.

On a more personal note she was very friendly and likeable and was one of the main reason's we enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend her and your company to our friends and family, and look forward to using Viator tour guides again.

We book Ellen Lan for our guide after reading her reviews and numerous emails. Ellen and I spoke several times concerning our itinerary before our visit. Ellen was a wonderful guide! On very short notice she was able to co-ordinate three full days worth of sites for us to see in Beijing. Ellen is very knowledgeable about Beijing history as well as current life style. She gave us helpful information regarding street vendors, for both food and merchandise. Ellen is very caring. She has a great sense of humor and it was an absolute joy getting to know her! I would highly recommend her as your guide!
