Guide profile:
I am simply passionate about the English countryside and adore England's Green and Pleasant Land – on foot and in all weathers!
I specially selected the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire for my walking tours. Less than 2 hours by train from London, this area has some of the most beautiful scenery in England, with a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, unspoiled villages, grand manor houses and stately homes, high wold and meandering river valleys. With bright yellow-greens of unfurling leaves in spring, the deep blue summer skies, the vivid autumn colours and crisp white winter frosts it’s stunning at any time of the year.
I provide more than just a walk, rather a cultural tour at a leisurely walking pace for regular walkers and novices. My routes are expertly researched and meticulously planned to take in selected sites of interest as well as top pubs and tea shops in the area.
I also provide combi-tours with a short walk in the morning, lunch in a village pub and a visit to a stately home such as Blenheim or an historic town like Stratford-upon-Avon or other attraction in the afternoon.
My background is in agricultural research and I also taught ecology with the Open University for a number of years. Latterly I worked in software development and when made redundant took the opportunity to follow my heart and share my knowledge of England’s magnificent countryside with others and am always ready to go the extra mile.

I wish I could rate Anne Martis a 10+.
She made our day with her truly special in every way. She even took us to places she knew we would enjoy based on our interests that we did not know about. She was always professional and friendly.
She is such a warm, delightful driver and knowledgable guide. Her recommendations for a place to eat and stay were perfect.
I had a perfect day with her and hope to book her next time we are visiting the Cotswolds, or any place we may visit in England.

I had a very enjoyable Cotswold tour with Anne. She was most helpful in organizing it and really knew the countryside. She was very flexible about the itinerary and was adaptable to my needs as a solo traveler. She was professional and very informative. It was a wonderful tour of some of the lovely English countryside! I would do it again!
