Tour guide services/sample itinerary:
If your cruise ship docks at the port of Athens so you only have a few hours, if you are staying for many days, if you are visiting my city for a business meeting or a conference, just let me know in advance so as to make the best of it.
During your staying, you will learn the history of Greece, visit the most important monuments and museums, taste the Greek cuisine at a traditional taverna, or just stroll at the old part of the town called Plaka.
I can pick you up from your hotel or your cruise ship with a taxi or a mini van, drive to the center of Athens, visit the ancient marble stadium used for the first modern Olympic games in 1896 and the finish of the marathon race, see the parliament and the changing of the guards at the constitution square, the academy of fine arts, the university of Athens, the national library, the national garden, visit the temple of Zeus and of course the Acropolis of Athens with the masterpiece of Greek architecture, the Parthenon.
If you are interested in art and sculpture, your day will not be complete unless you visit the new Acropolis museum with the famous gallery of the Parthenon.

Transportation by tour guide:
I can provide transportation either with my A/C car, if you are a party of two with an extra charge, or by taxi, 12-seater or 17-seater luxurius mini bus if you are a larger group of people.
For the adventurous ones I highly recommend a pleasure boat or a sailing boat so as to discover the greek islands in a unique way.

We were in Athens for just a half-day and wanted to get the most out of our time. We booked a tour with Anna, based on reviews on this site, and spent a few hours touring the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and Plaka with our boys, age 10 and 12. I was worried that they boys might be bored, but Anna presented the material in a way that kept them engaged and eager to hear more. Thanks to Anna, our short visit to Athens turned into one of the major highlights of our trip!

We were very fortunate to have Anna as our guide. Besides being knowledgeable and professional, Anna was very accessible and easily adjusted "on the fly" to our interests.
I emailed her a few times pre-trip and she sent back great answers, making the Athens trip just that much better. Highly recommended.

The very best tour guide!!! Anna Benaki gave us the most fantastic day of touring Athens! Her knowledge is only topped by her gracious & professional personality. She was so easy to work with—from initial contact, arranging transportation, an excellent tour to the last drop-off at our hotel. I highly recommend her services --Anna provided our party of six a day filled with easy to understand history lessons, interesting, fully-explained facts & details of all the historic and cultural sites.

We had only one full day at Athens, but Anna made it more than worthwhile. Not only she was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous, but she was also very sweet and caring, taking into consideration, at all times, my mother-in-law's mobility impairment. And she's a great photographer too!!!! I strongly recommend Anna Benaki; I would certainly choose her again in my next visit to Athens or the Greek Islands.

We were a party of 6 arriving in Athens on a very busy (7 ships) hot day. Anna adjusted the itinerary to best avoid crowds and the worst heat of the day. She took particular care of one member of our group who was using a walker. As an additional bonus we received etymological instruction proving that the origins of most all words are of course ... greek. We had good fun and learned a great deal about all the sights in 5 hours. Thanks again Anna.

Anna was excellent!
She met our wedding group of 25 people at our hotel with a new air-conditioned bus, and took us around the city for a tour. Then up the Parthenon to see the Acropolis and all the other incredible temples.
Anna has a great attitude, personality, and knowledge of the monuments and history of Greece- both ancient and current events!
I would highly recommend her to all visitors and guests of Greece.

Our family (including three children ages 12-16) throughly enjoyed their tour with Anna. She was excellent in taking us through the various historic sights - very well informed and easily able to communicate her knowledge of and enthusiasm for the history and structures. She was also great in tailoring the tour to our interests and taking us to more prosaic locales - the central fish and meat market, the flea market of monastrika - we would recommend her.

Anna Benaki
Our family of 7 had a private tour with Anna in Athens. She was awesome. SHe has a pleasant personality and disposition. She fulfilled all the requirements for the perfect tour guide--she was punctual, accomodating and very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time and were extremely pleased with the services she provided. We highly recommend her.

Anna Benaki was marvelous for our day in Athens. She tailored our tour to her lovely and ancient city so we saw all the important destinations, plus sites that 50-passenger tour busses can't get to -- like Mount Lycabettus, the highest spot in Athens with a great view of the entire city, including the Acropolis.
She knows Athens/Greek/Roman/Turkish history -- when, who and how they did it.
All in all, the best tour we took during our recent 26-day cruise of the Mediterranean and Adriatic!

Anna shared much more than the basic facts about the monuments. She talked with us about so many aspects of life in Greece such as the agricultural products, the education system, and fun places to go vacationing in the area.
