Hello everybody, and welcome to my beautiful country of Cambodia. My name is Nuon Chansarak. I am an English speaking tour guide. I’ve been a certified tour guide for the area of Angkor, in Siem Reap for over 7 years. On my tour I’ve been sharing a lot of interesting history of many ancient temples around Siem Reap (Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and many other impressive temples) and valuable information on today’s Cambodian cultural habits and day-to-day way of life. I organize all practical arrangements for the tour not only the small circle and Angkor area tour well, but also the visits in Beng Mealea, Koh Ker, Kbal Spean, Kulen mountain, Floating village on the Tonle Sap and in other city Phnom Penh (Royal Palace, History museum as well as the silencing Genocide museum and Killiing fields).
Siem Reap itself is rich in history and it’s not a place where one get to absorb all by just wandering on your own – hence you have me here your professional personality tour guide, and I know the best location and angle to take the best pictures as well.
I have my expert guide team call ANGKOR GUIDE SSARAK tour services so If I'm not available on your days then I also can get one of my colleagues, expert local tour guide to conduct the tour with you.

MY BACKGROUND: I have been working in the tourism industry since 1999. I started my first job in a 5 star hotel in Siem Reap, the "Grand Hotel d' Angkor". I learned a lot from there; how to make the guest satisfied, to meet the guest’s needs, to make drinks, cocktails, and so on. Then I moved on to work in another 5 star hotel, the "Victoria Angkor Hotel, Siem Reap”. There I also had learned more about the managing of the work place, train other people in the team, work delegation, and so on. I was really enjoying my work then. Yet it was many years working in the hotel and later on, I felt a bit bored with the same work every day. There I could make only small communication with the customers, basic conversation such as: How may I help you ? What would you care for to drink? How was your meal? ... So my English was not improving very much any more. At that time, the tourism ministry in Siem Reap opened an exam for the tour guide for Angkor. I went to take the exam. I passed the exam and joined the training made by the tourism ministry about Cambodian history, legend, temples, culture and so on.
My first day tour at Angkor was with two guests that stayed in the Hotel de la Paix. They were from America but they worked in Singapore. It was my first time at my new job. I presented myself to them and told them that I’d been working as the English speaking tour guide for 3 months. Then I started to explain to them in the car about Cambodia. At that time my English was not very fluent and I think they could feel that I had not been working a long time before taking a tour with them. I asked them, “How was my English?” They immediately replied “I could not understand your English at all.” Then they laughed and said again,“No I’m joking!” Before the tour ended on that day, they told me, “Sarak, tomorrow I want to visit Kulen mountain, but I don’t want you to be my tour guide any more, no need for any explanation. I want you to be my friend. I will pay you the same money and hotel charge from me, but you come with me tomorrow as my friend.”
The next day we went to Kulen mountain together, happily and friendly.
Working as a tour guide I found much better than working in the hotel. I met lots of people from around the world from different cultures. And I have learned about how to take good photographs from my new job. I know where the best places are to take good pictures. My guest said to me, “You have a good eye.You should be a photographer also.” I made lots of friends from my tour. Before they left Cambodia they told me, “When you have a chance to visit my country just let me know! I can be your tour guide there free of charge. :-)

Recent reviews of this tour guide:
I engaged Mr Sarak as the guide for my relatives, comprised 8 adults and one child, from Malaysia and Singapore. It was their first visit to Cambodia. The tour covered 3 days Siem Reap and 1 day Phnom Penh. The rates charged by Mr Sarak was reasonable. It included airport pick up, transport, meals and entrance fees, and also a private van transfer from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. He also captured the scenic and memorable shots of the tour with his professional camera. I high recommend his service.

My trip to Siem Reap was awesome!
My friend and i were having lots of fun in Seam Reap, seeing lots of interesting stuffs, having great food and definitely having many great pictures! And all of that happen because we have a great tour guide.
Sarak was very friendly and knowledgeable. He knows all the great local restaurant (which is very important for me) and he was also very fun and helpful. Last but not least he took very great pictures. He is a highly recommended tour guide.
I'm not normally leave feedback about anything; but in this case I'll make an exception....
We booked the one day tour including sunrise
Sarak was absolutely faultless from emailing him to initially book a guide right through to coming to my hotel the day after just before we left to make sure everything went OK and to give me my $5 booking fee back!
I would highly recomend Sarak if you're travelling to Siem Reap and you need a tour guide who will exceed your expectations

He handled my travel in Siem Reap seamlessly from arrival, hotel check in, tour, until the final day in Siem Reap. On the way back to the airport, he even take me for a last tour passing by the Angkor Wat Complex for the very last time..well I guess this is not my first and last trip to Angkor, but a starting point for me to explore more sights in this amazing ancient city. Mr. Chansarak has done a wonderful job in making my stay a memorable one
