We had a 6 hour layover in Budapest and was not going to spend it at the airport. I booked Gergely to pick us up and return us to the airport with a tour in between. He accommodatied us with this. I can't say enough about what a wonderfully pleasant and informative guide he was. He showed us everything. it was great. I would so recommend him if you only have a few hours or days as he will take good care of you. I felt very safe with him. I have great pics to show. well worth the reasonable cost.

Márta Pitti

Hello! I am a native, licensed tour guide in Hungary. I graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Szeged, a lovely town in the south of Hungary, where I studied English and Hungarian literature and linguistics. After graduating I moved to Budapest where I worked as a high school English teacher in the beginning, then I made up my mind and became an English and Italian speaking tourist guide. And during this period something strange happened: I fell in love with my new city: Budapest. I enjoy my new profession very much and I look forward to showing you around in Budapest – to present its history Read full guide profile »

’Please, stop boring me! I am on a holiday, not on a study tour!’

Are you familiar with such an outcry? Have you ever read any guide book in which you found only dry, factual information? Have you ever participated in a tour, where the guide was talking about the history in about 2 hours and he or she almost fell asleep, too?

If yes, you are at the right place.

Welcome dear Private Traveller,

I am Akos Fodor, the professional guide of those tourists,…

who prefer being on a holiday and having a very good time to studying and memorizing datas,

who believe that a legend or a rumo Read full guide profile »

Zoltan Nagy

Graduated at the Tibetan and Mongolian Departments, ELTE University,Budapest;

Sociology and Social Anthropology, Central European University.

Now a guide, however, previously did several things from being a doorman at a nightclub during the student years in Budapest or chopping wood in the USA, to running the first private Oriental clinic in Hungary.

Budapest has always been a multicultural city. Beside the Hungarian there were Germans, Jews, Italians, Slovaks, Serbians, Romanians, Greeks, Gypsies, Poles, Armenians and who knows what other peoples added elements of their own culture to t Read full guide profile »

This was an excellent tour and we had a great time. Zoltan knows the city, both the beautiful sites and the underrbelly. To top it off he took us to a nice restaurant off the tourist path, so we enjoyed a great meal at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Welcome to my friendly Budapest tours! I was born in Budapest and always lived here. I got my tour guide qualification in 1993. I organize various walking tours in Budapest, e. g.: a comprehensive WORLD HERITAGE TOUR and shorter walks to explore the good old Buda Castle, the hidden treasures of the City Park or the dramatic sites of FAITH, the COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP and the 1956 NATIONAL REVOLUTION. My main hobbies are studying art history and being a voluntary tour guide in the Fine Arts Museum of Budapest. Read full guide profile »

Andras Deak

5 stars

I have started working as a private tourguide in 2009 when I was 21. Probably the first thing you will recognize is my passion about revealing and introducing my place to someone who has never been around. I believe in my work as a kind of modern documentary. I want my customers to see, discover and experience in the same time. My goal is to amaze you by giving you new information, new knowledge, new experiences and a chance to get familiar to a country where you have probably never been.

Many of my customers are finding me through personal recommandations. This gives me a good feedback ab Read full guide profile »

Andras was prepared, prompt, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I asked him to prepare a day trip itinerary to Esztergom and Visegrad, emphasizing my interest in early Hungarian history. The itinerary included all of the major sites, plus enough knowledge of Hungary's history to provide detailed answers to my questions. Earlier in the week, Andras provided timely transfer service from the airport to our hotel, plus a brief orientation of the city. I recommend him with no reservations.

Orsolya Morvai

4.5 stars

Dear Visitors!

Let me welcome you to Budapest in our beautiful capital.

My name is Orsolya Morvai and I am professional tour guide in here.

I was studying cultural anthropology at the university and that time I realized how much I like to get to know different cultures, people, etc., but when I started to work at a travel agency I realized it is also great to introduce my place to foreigners.

I was not a tour guide yet, but people asked me many times if I could show them around.

That is why I decided to go to a guide school as well, because I love my country and I really enjoyed to explain ab Read full guide profile »

We (2 mature couples) booked Orsolya for 2 days while we were in Budapest. We had such a pleasant time with her. She is very knowledgeable. I think she speaks 5 languages. She is fun and she is very organized. We were in touch by email before our arrival. Everything went without a hitch. The first day we toured around on foot and on public transit. The second day she brought her driver and we toured the other highlights of Budapest. We would have loved to spend another day with her. Thanks Orsi!
